Building an Organization That Can Implement and Utilize SAP Independently

~ Sansei R&D DX Transformation Case Study with S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition × SAP Business Network × CSA ~

Sansei R&D Co., Ltd. embarked on the development of a next-generation business platform centered on SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, combined with SAP Business Network and SAP BTP.
Based on Avally’s CSA (Customer Self-Activation for S/4 Implementation) approach, and in collaboration with ARK CONSULTANT, the project aimed not only to implement ERP, but also to enable the customer to understand, utilize, and continuously improve SAP independently.

Challenges Before Implementation

  • System enhancements tended to rely heavily on external vendors
  • Difficulty responding quickly to changing business requirements
  • Need for a framework that enables continuous improvement driven by business users
  • Need to improve supplier collaboration and goods receipt operations

Against this backdrop, the company sought not simply to implement a system, but to establish a platform that could be continuously improved and expanded internally.

 

Avally’s Support

Working closely with ARK CONSULTANT, Avally supported the implementation of a simple yet highly scalable business platform that maximized the use of SAP standard functionality.
By combining S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, SAP Business Network, and SAP BTP, the project established a next-generation business platform that balances standardization and flexibility.
The most distinctive aspect of the project was that Sansei R&D learned SAP BTP and proactively leveraged AI to develop its barcode receiving system in-house.
While Avally and ARK CONSULTANT provided technical and architectural guidance, the customer actively participated in the design and development process.
As a result, the project not only delivered a system implementation but also enabled the company to build internal capabilities to independently utilize and enhance SAP.
In addition, SAP Business Network strengthened collaboration with suppliers, improving efficiency from procurement through goods receipt and enabling a more real-time supply chain operation.

Future Outlook

Through this project, Sansei R&D has built not merely a new ERP system, but a DX foundation capable of evolving continuously through its own efforts.
While the company is currently focused on MM-related processes, it plans to expand SAP utilization further and is considering the deployment of additional SAP modules in the future.
The company also aims to further leverage AI to drive business automation, improve operational efficiency, and accelerate more advanced business transformation initiatives.
Avally will continue to support customer-led SAP utilization and digital transformation initiatives.
